Kenneth is survived by, his wife Marguerite; son and daughters-in-law Ralph and Maggie of Topeka, KS and Richard “Dick” and Debbie of Fremont, NE; daughters and son-in-law Janice Wild of Omaha and Barbara and John Borchardt of Blair, NE; 10 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren; brothers and sisters-in-law Charlie and Colleen Wild of Fremont, NE, Herb Wild of Omaha and Fred and Shirley Wild of Blair, NE.

Visitation: Friday noon to 8 P.M. with family receiving friends from 6 to 8 P.M. at the funeral home.

Services: Saturday 10:30 A.M. at United Faith Community Church in Valley.

Interment: Alma Lutheran Cemetery in Mead, NE.


Life Story for Kenneth Wild

Kenneth Eugene Wild was born on January 2, 1926 in Saunders County, Nebraska to Erwin and Vivian (Monteen) Wild. He grew up on the family farm south of Fremont where he attended Carey School through the 10th grade and graduated from Fremont High School in 1943. As a young boy, Ken was active in 4-H, showing his Jersey cows at the local and state fairs, receiving many awards but his passion was baseball. Ken served his country in the United States Army from February of 1945 to December of 1946, during which he was stationed in the Philippines for 13 months.

Ken married Marguerite Riddle on June 18, 1948 at the Marietta Baptist Church in Mead, Nebraska and they were blessed with four children: Ralph, Janice, Richard and Barbara. Ken and Marguerite raised their family on several local farms before settling in Valley in 1958.

Ken farmed and had milk cows before he went to work at Western Electric, later called AT& T where he worked for 30 years as a journeyman millwright. He enjoyed softball, golf, gardening, woodworking, spectator sports and was an avid New York Yankee fan. Ken and Marguerite enjoyed travelling, including many family vacations and a special trip to Hawaii for their 40th anniversary.

Ken passed away on Tuesday, November 24, 2015 at the Methodist Hospital in Omaha, Nebraska at the age of 89 years, 10 months and 22 days. He was preceded in death by his parents Erwin and Vivian and his brother Donald. Ken is survived by his wife Marguerite; son and daughters-in-law Ralph and Maggie of Topeka, KS and Richard “Dick” and Debbie of Fremont, NE; daughters and son-in-law Janice Wild of Omaha and Barbara and John Borchardt of Blair, NE; 10 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren; brothers and sisters-in-law Charlie and Colleen Wild of Fremont, NE,, Herb Wild of Omaha and Fred and Shirley Wild of Blair, NE;


Kenneth was a millwright in plant trades. He retired after thirty years of service.
