David Soren Svendgaard

Svendgaard, David Soren
6 Jul 1939 - 8 Dec 2016

David Soren Svendgaard (Disco Dave) was born and raised in Blair, Neb., and died peacefully at home on Dec. 8, 2016.

David, an avid golfer, who loved the sunshine, retired in January 1996 after 37 years of employment with Western Electric /AT&T in Omaha, Neb. He was a huge husker fan, carrying on a family legacy of supporting the University of Nebraska Cornhuskers. David loved fishing, camping and golfing, and was well known for his musical talents. Many loving memories of a man of melody who could walk into a room full of strangers, and leave as their best friend.
David was preceded in death by parents, Woodrow (Woody) and Marjorie Svendgaard; brothers, Walter Stewart and Lee Svendgaard; and grandson, Eric Soren Nicholas. He is survived by his loving wife, Rosie; and his four children, daughters, Sheri/Jack Johnson, Kristi/Rick Nicholas, Joni/James Gerrard, and son Jerry David/Sandra Svendgaard; and lovingly referred to as 'Papa' by 11 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren, and one on the way; also survived by sister, Cindy/Ron Regier.
