Gary E. Reimers

Reimers, Gary E.
18 Aug 1936 – 1 Aug 2016

Gary was a Industrial Engineer with Western Electric/AT&T for 37 years. He was a longtime member of the Shriners and Millard Lions Club. Gary was a past president of the Lions Club and was awarded the Prestigious Melvin Jones Fellow Award. He was a tireless volunteer in the Millard Community, serving in many areas which included Fire & Rescue, Airport Authority and many more.

Gary was 4 time letter winner at the University of Nebraska in both Basketball and Baseball. He was inducted into the University of Nebraska Basketball Hall of Fame in 1996.

Survived by wife Virginia

Children; Shari (Craig) Johnson, Mark (Patti) Reimers, Shelli Garrett, Shala (Mark) Johnson, Greg (Tracye) Malek, Michaela Kiechler. Sister; Sally Nolting, Grandchildren; J.D., Curtis, Tomy, Randie, Katie, Jack, Graysen, Great Grandson; Aaron and many other relatives & friends.

A Celebration of Gary’s Life will be held, Tuesday, Sept. 6, 2016 at 2:30pm at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church (13271 Millard Ave.)

Visitation: Monday, Sep. 5, 2016 from 5-7:00 P.M. at Braman Mortuary (Southwest Chapel).

Interment: Voss Mohr Cemetery.

Memorials: To Multiple myeloma cancer research, Athletic Fund at University of NE or St. Paul's Lutheran Church.
