Adeline A. Pettitt age 89, of Fremont died Thursday, December 10, 2015 at Nye Legacy in Fremont. She was born November 5, 1926 in Norfolk, NE to Karll and Esther (Raduenz) Schellpeper. She grew up on the same farm as her father did, in the Pierce area. She received her education in rural schools.

On September 15, 1946, Adeline was married to Leonard Milton Pettitt in the Zion Lutheran Church in Hoskins. Following her husband’s return from military service, they lived in several small area communities until moving into Fremont in 1962. Adeline worked for Campbell Soup Co. here and she retired in 1991 from Western Electric.

She was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband Leonard, and 2 brothers in their early childhood, Leonard and Milton and a great grandson William.

Survivors include son, Gary and wife Pam Pettitt of Fremont; daughters, Kathryn and husband Bob Schutte of Omaha, Beverly and husband Ron Harris of Chandler, AZ, Shirley Fiscus of North Bend, Janice and husband Ed Gray of North Bend, Marsha and husband Gary Gillis of North Bend; 10 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren; sisters Betty VanErt, Grants Pass, OR, Velma Backer and Elaine Bermel, of Randolph; brother, Merlin and wife Joyce Schellpeper, Grants Pass, OR.

Visitation: Ludvigsen Mortuary will be on Sunday from 1 to 4 P.M. with the family present from 2 to 4 P.M.

Services: 10 A.M. Monday, December 14th at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church with Rev. Glenn Meyer.
Interment: Memorial Cemetery.

Memorials: Suggested to Good Shepherd Lutheran Church.


Adeline retired in 1991.
