Carl O. Peckman

Peckman, Carl O.
8 Aug 1931 - 14 Feb 2017

Carl passed away of Leukemia on February 14, 2017 in Olympia, WA. He was born August 8, 1931 to Clarence O. and Ina Amarena (Sherwood) Peckman in Beatrice, NE. Raised in Beatrice, Carl also lived in Lincoln, NE, spent 50 years in Omaha, NE, and moved to Olympia in 2008.

Carl served in the US Navy during the Korean War and graduated from Southeast Community College in Milford, NE. He married Alma F. Fruehling on June 19, 1955 at Immanuel State Line Lutheran Church in Wymore, NE.

Carl worked in telecommunications manufacturing for AT&T from 1959 to 1992. He also was a ham radio operator and enthusiast, and a huge Nebraska football fan. He loved fishing, fly tying, and operating RC (radio controlled) vehicles. He was a member of Lutheran Church of the Good Shephard and VFW.

He is survived by his son, David Peckman and family; daughter, Nancy Peckman, and son-in-law, Terry Christensen; and grandchild, Mikayla and step-grandchildren, Danyelle and Ashley. He was predeceased by his wife, Alma; and brother, Ray Peckman.

Services: Immanuel State Line Lutheran, 4696 E. State Line Road, Wymore, NE 68466.


Carl retired 13 Feb 1992.
