Delbert C. O'Neal

Delbert C. O誰eal was born October 26, 1946 in Plattsmouth, NE to Clyde E. and Carrie Helen (Kerns) O誰eal. He passed away on Wednesday, January 18, 2012 at Midlands Hospital, Papillion, NE at the age of 65. Delbert grew up and attended school in Yutan, graduating from Yutan High School in 1965. He served in the US Navy during the Vietnam War. He later retired from the US Army Reserves after 20 years of service.

Delbert was united in marriage to Marilyn Sherman on November 27, 1971 at the Cedar Hill Methodist Church in rural Greenwood. To this union were born three children Jennifer, Ryan and Sheri. Delbert was employed with Western Electric for over 35 years retiring in 2006. He and Marilyn lived with their family in Yutan until moving to Ashland in 2007. He was an avid coin collector, enjoyed photography, working in his yard, growing roses, and loved nature and traveling.

Delbert was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers and one nephew. Delbert is survived by his wife Marilyn, Ashland; children and spouses Jennifer O誰eal, LaVista, NE; Ryan, PA (Christine) O誰eal, Kansas City, KS; Sheri (Mike) Mundy, Omaha, NE; 4 grandsons Isaac, Sam and Max O誰eal and Mason Mundy, other relatives and friends.

Visitation: Monday, January 23, 2011, 4:00-7:00 PM Marcy Chapel, Ashland, Nebraska and one hour prior to the service

Funeral Service: Tuesday, January 24, 2012 2:00 PM Cedar Hill United Methodist Church, Rural Greenwood, Nebraska; Interment: Cedar Hill Cemetery, Rural Greenwood, Nebraska

Memorials: Cedar Hill United Methodist Church or Ashland Fire and Rescue Squad.


Note: I believe Del worked in the Reelex area of the 50 building before retiring.
