James E. Nick passed away Monday August 17, 2015 at Bergan Mercy Medical Center in Omaha. He was born Dec. 11, 1943 in Fremont to William and Mary (Boyle) Nick. Jim was baptized, confirmed and served as an altar boy at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Cedar Bluffs.

Jim graduated from Cedar Bluffs High School and then served in the US Army. He worked at Commscope, formerly Western Electric in Omaha for 37 years before retiring in 2005.

Survivors include his sisters, Margaret Van Ness of Aurora, CO, Barbara Wesely of Lincoln and Rita (Al) Sindelar of Fremont; brothers, Lynn (Wilma) Nick of Brighton, CO and Ron Nick of Fremont; sister-in-law, Joyce Nick of Lincoln and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Mary Ellen Hartmann, Anne Vopalensky, Claire Kern and twin sister Judith Kathleen Nick and brothers, Fred and Jerry Nick.

Visitation: Thursday from 4-8 P.M. with family receiving friends from 6-7:30 P.M. and a Rosary at 7:30 P.M. all at Moser Memorial Chapel in Cedar Bluffs, and one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday.

Services: Funeral Mass 10:30 A.M., Friday, August 21, 2015 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Cedar Bluffs, NE. Father Leo Seiker will officiate.

Internment: Little Flower of Jesus Cemetery near Leshara, NE with military honors.

Memorials: To St. Mary's Catholic Church, in Cedar Bluffs or Little Flower of Jesus Cemetery.
