Robert Byron Morey

Morey, Robert Byron 'Bob'
February 15, 1921 - April 12, 2016

Robert Byron Morey, 95, of Lincoln, passed away peacefully surrounded by loving family on April 12, 2016. Born February 15, 1921 in Lincoln, NE to Claris B. and May (Morris) Morey. WWII U. S. Army Air Corps Veteran. Ret. 1983 after 37 years as Dept. Manager for Western Electric Co. Member of Westminster Presbyterian Church, American Legion Post #3 and Moose Lodge. Bob enjoyed reading, keeping up on current events, Prairie Life Fitness, and going to plays and movies. He was a supporter of local live music and Nebraska football. He also loved spending time with his family, friends and especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Family members include his daughter, Constance (Robert) Smith, Columbus, MT; son, Gary B. (Kit) Morey, Annapolis, MD; grandchildren, Jonathan Morey, San Francisco, CA and Joanna Morey (Gregg Austin) and their children, Philippa and Eleanor Austin, all of Neenah, WI; step-daughter, Barb Biffle (Don Bennett), Lincoln; daughter-in-law, Karen Morey, Minneapolis, MN; special companion, Marge Axthelm, Missoula, MT. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Betty Belle and a sister, Barbara Boyer.

Visitation: No visitation.

Services: 2:30 P.M. Saturday, April 16, 2016, at Westminster Presbyterian Church, 2110 Sheridan Blvd.

Cremation: Prior private family interment.

Memorials: To the church or donor's choice.


Bob was the Dept. Head of Mini Wire Spring Relays.
