Doris A. McDonald, 75, passed away Saturday, March 14, 2015, at her daughter's residence in Lincoln.

Doris was born Oct. 19, 1939, to Adolf and Lillian Jindra in Stanton County. She attended Clarkson High School in Clarkson until moving to Fremont. Here she met Gary McDonald and they were later married in Medford, Okla., on Dec. 18, 1957. Doris worked for Campbell Soup until going to work for Western Electric in Omaha for over 40 years. During her employment she earned many awards and certificates, most notably being recognized for her perfect attendance. Doris was a hard worker who put other people before herself.

She was an excellent cook and loved to bake Christmas cookies. She also enjoyed watching and cheering on the Cornhuskers, hunting, and gardening. Doris also liked to support her community and volunteer whenever she could.

Doris loved spending time with her granddaughters and especially her great-grandchildren, attending many of their sporting events. She also had a very special friend in her granddaughter's yorkie, Mac.

She was preceded in death by: her husband, Gary; sisters, Mildred Jindra, Alma (Adolph) Podany, and Ruth (Carl) Seberg; brothers, Richard and Alden (Marilyn) Jindra; and brother-in-law, Charlie Suchan.

Survivors include: a daughter, Carmen (Martin) Schwanke of Lincoln; granddaughters, Jamie and Emily Schwanke of Lincoln; great-grandchildren, Trenton, Bryanna, Janaya, and B.J.; sisters and brothers, Vi Suchan, Betty (Ken) Hledik, Ron (Marilyn) Jindra, and Shirley (Dean) Brabec, all of Columbus, Marcella (Joe) Fichtl of Norfolk, Robert (Jeanette) Jindra of Ft. Madison, Iowa, and Adolph (Mary) Jindra of Schuyler; sister-in-law, Myrtle Jindra; and many nieces and nephews.

Services: Private services will be held at Dugan Funeral Chapel.


Doris retired on 22 Sep 2000.
