He was born in Council Bluffs, on February 15, 1948, to the late Glen and Dolly (Heywood) Mabbitt. Jerry graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School and retired from Avaya, formerly Western Electric with over 35 years of service.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Ronald Mabbitt; great-granddaughter, Jocelyn Martin.

Jerry is survived by his wife, Peggy; sons, Troy Mabbitt, Todd Mabbitt (Nissa); step-son Ryan Long; brother, Glen Mabbitt (Diana); 7 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

No services will be held.
