Frank Joseph Lefebvre

Lefebvre, Frank J.
14 Aug 1920 - 12 Mar 2014

Frank J. Lefebvre, age 93, Omaha, passed away Wednesday, Mar. 12, 2014, surrounded by his wife of 67 years, children and grandchildren. When family and friends think of Frank, they'll fondly remember his favorite hobbies: skiing, tennis, stamp collecting, bridge, cribbage and going to the Husker football games. He was a long time member of St. Robert Bellarmine Parish and was an EME.

Frank was a New Jersey native and attended Rutherford High School. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Fordham University in 1942 and later attended Rutgers University, receiving a Bachelor of Arts degree in accounting and a Master's degree in business administration.

Frank began his Western Electric career in 1942 at the Kearney (NJ) Works. He was granted a military leave of absence in Sept. 1942 and served in the US Navy for four years, attaining the rank of Lieutenant. He returned to Western Electric as an auditor in the Finance Division at Kearney, ultimately advancing to General Manager of the Omaha Works in 1970. He retired in 1978 instead of transferring to Atlanta because he and his family loved Omaha so much.

During his career he served on numerous boards such as Omaha National Bank, Zoological Society, Boystown, Central States and he was a member of His Majesty's Council – Ak-Sar-Ben as well as many other business and civic organizations.

Frank is survived by his wife Kathryn "Kit" Lefebvre; five children: Diane Strickler, John Lefebvre, Drs. Mark Lefebvre (Becky Campbell), Mary Vacek (Bob), Jim Lefebvre (Jenny), 10 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. Frank was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Bob.

Visitation: Friday, 5 P.M. with a Rosary to follow at 7:00 P.M. at the Crosby Colonial Chapel.

Services: Saturday at 2:00 P.M. at St. Robert Bellarmine Catholic Church.

Memorials: To St. Robert Bellarmine Catholic Church, in lieu of flowers.

Frank retired in 1978.
