Gene lived in the rural Gretna area. He was a successful farmer and worked at the AT&T/Western Electric–Omaha Works, from which he retired after 33 years of service.

He is preceded in death by parents, John Joseph (“Joe”) and Ida Kritenbrink; brother Richard Kritenbrink; and wife Mary Ann (Scholting) Kritenbrink.

Gene is survived by brother, Donald (Joyce) Kritenbrink (Ashland); sons Lawrence (Cynthia) Kritenbrink (Omaha), Joseph (Brenda) Kritenbrink (Gilbertsville, KY), and Ronald (Darlene) Kritenbrink (Gretna); daughter Ann (Curt) Yager (Gretna); grandchildren Kari (Albert) Banigo (San Diego, CA), Janell (Kevin) register (Troy, OH), Jared (Erin) Kritenbrink (Indianapolis, IN), John (Lindsey) Kritenbrink (Omaha), James Kritenbrink (Long Beach., CA), Kristin (Paul) Yaneff (Sioux City, IA), Kevin Yager (Gretna), Kendall Kritenbrink (Sioux City, IA), Peter Kritenbrink (Chicago, IL), and Mary Yager (Gretna); step-grandsons Curt Yager (Lincoln), Brian (Lisa) Yager (Omaha), and Jason (Kyla) Yager (Lincoln); step-granddaughter Mandy (Shaun) Pokorny (Council Bluffs); 21 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; cousins; nieces and nephews; other relatives; and many friends, including his special friend Marge Wagner (Gretna).

Visitation: Thursday, April 5th from 5-7 P.M. at St. Patrick’s Church, 508 W. Angus Road, Gretna. A Vigil Service will follow at 7 P.M.

Services: Mass of Christian Burial will be, Friday, April 6th at 10 A.M. at St. Patrick’s Church.

Interment: Holy Sepulcher Gretna Cemetery.

Memorials: are suggested to the Holy Sepulcher Cemetery Association (c/o St. Patrick’s Church, Gretna) or St. Patrick’s Church, Gretna.


Gene retired from the plant with thirty three yeas of service.
