Marcus W. Kennedy

Kennedy, Marcus (Mark)
14 Oct 1936 – 16 May 2018

Marcus Wayne Kennedy was born on October 14, 1936 in Enid, Oklahoma, unto the union of Waldo E. Kennedy and Gertrude Johnson Kennedy Hicks. He departed this life on May 16, 2018 at the Methodist Hospital, Omaha, Nebraska. He was preceded in death by his first wife Charlotte Kennedy, both parents, sister Elvira Hicks and daughter Corita Garrette Reynolds. Marcus was educated at St. Benedict School, Technical High School and Omaha University in Omaha, Nebraska.

Marcus was employed for several years with Rosen Novak Cadillac, Omaha Packinghouse and retired as a supervisor after 35 years at Western Electric, which subsequently became AT&T.

He lived a life replete with many hobbies and interests which included working on cars, gardening, yard landscaping, golfing, playing cards, cooking and grilling with his friends and family.

He was always excited about traveling; whether traveling by car or plane, he felt it to be educationally enriching and the experience brought much joy and happiness to his life. His white chevy station wagon, which he loved, carpooled many friends and co-workers back and forward to work and in the process got banged around from his acts of kindness and generosity. Amazingly however, he used his beloved white chevy station wagon to crisscross the United States visiting family in Oklahoma, Disneyland in California, Niagara Falls and elsewhere.

You could always find him loading up his car to assist his children’s Boy Scout and Girl Scout troops, Baseball games/tournaments and stuffing every corner of any of his cars to move his children and grandchildren across the county to colleges, universities and away from home to seek new opportunities.

During his life of retirement Marcus Kennedy was a husband, father, uncle, brother in-law and best friend whose heart and home were like an empty bucket. His smiles and hugs were endless, and he always was available to hand them out even if you did not think you needed it.

Marcus leaves to cherish his wife Evelyn Faye Kennedy, daughter Marcia Kennedy, and son Charles Walker. Also, his daughters, Paulette Kennedy, Paula Kennedy (Alex), Wanda Kennedy, Angela Kennedy; son Wayne Kennedy (Gabrielle). Grandchildren Donatello Kennedy, Jahbari Kennedy and Kalen Ross plus a host of other relatives and friends.
