Eleanor J. Hundt, age 84, of Underwood, Iowa, passed away February 17,
2014, at the Avoca Nursing Home in Avoca, Iowa.
Eleanor was born on the family farm in James Township, Pottawattamie
County, Iowa, on December 10, 1929. She was the daughter of Frederick W.
and Bertha M. (Tennigkeit) Hundt. After graduating from Oakland, Iowa
High School, Eleanor lived in Council Bluffs and worked for Western
Electric in Omaha for 30 years. In 1968, Eleanor built a home in
Underwood and continued to take care of her folks in her home until they
passed away.
In addition to her parents, Eleanor was preceded in death by her infant
brother, Eugene Wilhelm Hundt.
She leaves to mourn her passing, her family, Jan and Lois Flemming of
Avoca, Tim and Norma Flemming and family of Florissant, CO, Nancy and
Ron Emberton and family of Savannah, MO, Brian Flemming and family of
Minden, Iowa, and Sue and Ethan Matthews and family of Neola, Iowa; and
her neighborhood family in Underwood and other relatives and friends.
Services: Funeral service, Wednesday, 1:00 P.M. at Cutler-O’Neill-Meyer-Woodring
Bayliss Park Chapel.
Interment: Minden, Iowa Cemetery, with a lunch following at the Minden
United Church of Christ.
Memorials: Memorials are suggested to Underwood, Iowa Fire and Rescue
Department.
Eleanor had thiry years of service at Western Electric.
