Lola Dorothy Howell, age 81 of Council Bluffs passed away September 24, 2011. She was born March 8, 1930 in Magnolia, Iowa to the late Rolla & Wilvia (Shears) Unmack. Lola was a longtime instructor at AT&T that was later Lucent Technologies, retiring in 1987. She was a member of IBEW Local #1974.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Ted Howell; infant twin sons; 3 sisters and 1 brother.

Lola is survived by her son, Denny Warren of Buena Vista, Colorado; daughters and sons-in-law, Tedette & Alan Ellis of Council Bluffs, Robin & Ron Heuwinkel of Council Bluffs and Ember & Osvaldo Lopez of Pembroke Pines, Florida; daughter-in-law, Kathy Berry; sister, Ramona Thalisinos; Beloved Dog, Cici; grandchildren: Kelly Berry, Trisha (Berry) Benck, Nicole Howell, Josh Horner, Erin (Horner) McQuinn, Alissa Lopez, Kevin Ellis, Kara (Ellis) Nickels, Brandi Ellis, Jason Heuwinkel, Andy Heuwinkel and Ben Heuwinkel; great grandchildren: Beau Keegan, Brett Keegan, Brooklyn Keegan, Jayden McQuinn, Lauren McQuinn, Cody Benck, Lauren Benck, McKenzie Wiotta, Brendan Ellis, Alexis Ellis, Madison Nickels, Shae Nickels, Railey Heuwinkel, Isaac Heuwinkel, Jillian Heuwinkel, Serenity Heuwinkel, Kyden Heuwinkel, Broderick Heuwinkek; nieces and nephews; and special caregiver, Kim Witters.

Visitation: Thursday 6-8PM at the Hoy-Kilnoski Funeral Home and Crematory.

Funeral: Friday 11AM also at the funeral home.

Interment: Memorial Park Cemetery.

A reception will follow in the Hoy-Kilnoski Community Room.

Memorials: Suggested to the American Cancer Society or Hospice with Heart.
