Duane R. Hiatt

Hiatt, Duane R.
11 Apr 1926 - 19 Dec 2015

Born in Lincoln, NE. Joining the Army in 1944, he was sent to Europe and served in the 2nd Armored Division, 67th Armored Regiment in WWII. After the war, he married Ruth Ellen Callaway in 1947. He moved to Omaha in 1960 with Western Electric, serving as a supervisor until his retirement in 1986. He was an avid golfer, bowler, and dancer, and a member of Nebraska Taxpayers for Freedom.

Preceded in death by wife, Ruth; brother, Les Hiatt. Survived by daughters, Sandra Kay Wolf (Dick) of Burnsville, MN, and Gail Ann Rule (Mark) of Omaha; son, Jim Wayne Hiatt (Delila) of Dacula, GA; 6 grandchildren; Angela, Richard, Robert, Leah, Cory and Luke; 6 great-grandchildren; many friends.


Duane was a supervisor in the 30 building. He retired 1 May 1986.


Services: Wednesday, 11:00 A.M., West Center Chapel.

Interment: Evergreen Memorial Park with Military rites by Benson VFW Post #2503.

Memorials: To the Salvation Army, Nebraska Taxpayers for Freedom, or PLEASE VOTE.
