Richard H. Geise, age 83, of Underwood, Iowa, passed away September 11, 2018 at his home.

Richard was born October 9, 1934 in Underwood to the late Fred A. and Hertha (Ruffner) Geise. He graduated from Underwood High School in 1953 and proudly served his country in the Army Reserves. Richard married Nancy Brown on November 17, 1957 in Council Bluffs. They were blessed with four children, Denise, Kevin, Kelly and Keith. Richard was a tool and die maker for AT&T/Lucent Technology for 30 years, retiring in 1999 and a farmer. He was a member of Underwood Lutheran Church and charter member of the Underwood Optimist Club.

In addition to his parents, Richard was preceded in death by 2 infant sisters; brothers, Frederick and Kenneth Geise.

Richard is survived by his wife of 60 years, Nancy Geise; daughter, Denise (Tom) Shipp all of Underwood; sons, Kevin (Joan) Geise of Omaha, Kelly (Tracy) Geise of Lakeville, Minnesota, Keith (Heather) Geise of Blair, Nebraska; 9 grandchildren; sisters, Ruth Tiarks of Treynor, Iowa, Karen (Carroll) Olson of Minden, Iowa; aunts, Louise Geise of Council Bluffs, Irene Beauman of Ida Grove, Iowa; sister-in-law, Sandra Geise (Ken) Miller of Omaha; many nieces and nephews.

Visitation: Sunday, September 16, 2018, 300 P.M. to 5 P.M., Cutler-O'Neill Meyer-Woodring Funeral Home & Crematory, 545 Willow Avenue, Council Bluffs, IA 51503.

Services: Monday, September 17, 2018, Underwood Lutheran Church, 10 Third Avenue, Underwood, Iowa 51576

Interment: Fisher Cemetery, Underwood, IA


Richard was a tool and die maker at the plant. He retired July 6, 1990 with tirty years of service
