Fleming, Jamie Robert 'Bogie'

Jamie R. Fleming, age 84, of Weeping Water, NE, passed away Sunday, April 6th, 2014, peacefully at his residence. Jamie was born in Weeping Water, Nebraska on August 28, 1929, to Margaret (Ash) and Lyle Fleming. He was a graduate of Weeping Water High School. He served in the U.S. Army as a Corporal in the Korean War. He was wounded and received the Purple Heart. He retired from Western Electric and was a member of United Methodist Church, Odd Fellows and American Legion #237. Jamie is survived by wife Joyce; married on January 16, 1972; daughters, Barbara (Mark) Fjeld and Tari (Martin) Rupp; sons, Steven (Jennifer) Fleming and Kirk Fleming; grandchildren: Scott (Traci) Fleming, Chad (April) Fleming, Kara Fleming, Morgan Fleming, Jillian Fleming, Tanner Fjeld, James Fleming, Kirk Leroy (Beth) Fleming, Jesse Fleming, Allen Fleming, Adrian Fleming, Nicole (Micheal) Nielsen, Danae (Tim) McKenzie, Travis (Jessica) Rupp and Craig (Andrea) Rupp; ten great grandchildren; a brother, Don Fleming and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation: Tuesday 1-9 P.M. with Family from 6-8 P.M. at Hammons Family Funeral Chapel Weeping Water.

Services: 10:30 A.M. on Wednesday, April 9th at United Methodist Church, Weeping Water, NE with Dorothy Smith officiating.

Interment: Oakwood Cemetery, Weeping Water, NE. Military honors by the Nebraska Army National Guard and American Legion Post #237.


Jamie retired 31 Oct 1986.
