The son of Henry J. and Lucinda (Godert) Eischeid, Henry “Hank” Eischeid
was born in Halbur, Iowa and attended St. Augustine Grade School and
Carroll High School. He entered the Air Force in 1950 during the Korean
War and was honorably discharged as a Staff Sergeant in 1954. He and
Florence Riesenberg were married on October 3, 1959 at Holy Angels
Church in Roselle, Iowa. Before retiring in 1991, Mr. Eischeid had
farmed for two years, served his country in the Air Force for four
years, worked for John Deere in Waterloo, Iowa for three years, and was
employed by AT&T in Omaha for thirty-two years. He had been a member of
St. Gerald Catholic Church in Ralston, Nebraska since 1960 and was also
a longtime member of Ralston American Legion Post 373.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Florence (Riesenberg) Eischeid;
brothers, John Eischeid and Robert Eischeid. He is survived by four
children: Carol Eischeid, Joseph Eischeid (Julie), Gregory Eischeid, and
Jim Eischeid (Cindy); seven grandchildren: Megan Koch (Jake), Ryan
McKean (Shannon), Jackie Thomas (Jack), Kevin Eischeid (Kim), Justin
Eischeid (Alainna), Jessica Hord (Trent), and Mitchell Eischeid; nine
great-grandchildren; two brothers: Dr. Thomas Eischeid and Dr. Raymond
Eischeid (Julie); sister, JoAnn Brosnihan; many nieces and nephews.
Visitation: Friday, Feb. 8th, 5 P.M. to 7 P.M. at the West Center
Chapel. A vigil service will follow at 7 P.M.
Services: Saturday, Feb. 9th at 10am at St. Gerald Catholic Church, 9602
“Q” St.
Entombment: Calvary Mausoleum, with military honors by Ralston American
Legion Post 373.
Memorials: To the Ralston Fire Department, in lieu of flowers.
