Edward Joseph "Ed" Dergan of Omaha Nebraska died peacefully at the Hospice House in Omaha on April 21, 2018 at the age of 77.

Ed was born December 21, 1940, in Omaha, Nebraska. He attended Omaha Central High School. Ed served in the Army Reserves for 8 years; and later worked at the Western Electric/ATT/Avaya/Lucent cable plant for more than 33 years before retiring in 1999. In his spare time, Ed enjoyed golf, bowling, and spending time with friends and family.

Ed is survived by his two sons, Scott and his wife Joanie, and Doug and his wife Lynette, both of Omaha; 5 grandkids, Andrew, Shelby, Bailey, McKenna and Zach, all of Omaha; nieces Gay Biga of Phoenix, AZ, Karen Wilson of Westminster, CO, and Gwen Gustafson of Phoenix, AZ.

He was preceded in death by his father, Edward Sr. and his mother, Arlene Griffith; sisters, Arlene Walker and Barbara Gustafson; and long-time partner, Kay Oglevie.

Services: Are pending.

Inurnment: Forest Lawn Cemetery, at a later date.


Ed retired from the from the plant, 5 Jul 1999.
