Helen Therese Cochran

Cochran, Helen Therese 'Teri'
27 Dec 1931 – 20 Mar 2014

Helen Therese 'Teri' was born on December 27 1931, to Peter and Isabelle (Wilwerding) Heese, Teri was baptized and confirmed at St. Joseph Catholic Church and graduated from St. Joseph High School in 1949. She was united in marriage to Max Cochran on September 15, 1978. She went to school and worked in Omaha, retiring from Western Electric in 1990.

After Max died, Teri spent her life being active in St. Joan of Arc Parish and volunteering in many capacities: crocheting lap robes for Veterans groups and newborns, cooking for homeless shelters, working at school, and organizing dinners for funerals, to name just a few. She also enjoyed making ceramics, many of which became cherished gifts to others.

Teri died on Thursday, March 20, 2014, at the age of 82. She was preceded in death by her husband, Max William Cochran; parents, Peter and Isabelle (Wilwerding) Heese; three sisters: Dorothy, Rita, and Bernice; two brothers, Ed and Owen. She is survived by four sisters: Isabel Klein and husband, John, of Harlan, Iowa, Mildred “Mick” Bieker, of Harlan, Iowa, Sr. Liz Heese of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and Norma Schmitz and husband, Jerry, of Spirit Lake, Iowa; brother, Larry Heese and wife, Jean, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; stepson, Bill Cochran and wife, Marcia, of Rochester, Minnesota; three grandchildren: Todd, Eric, and Carole; two great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews, and many friends.

Visitation: The family will receive friends Sunday, March 23rd, from 5-7 P.M. at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, with vigil service at 7 P.M.

Services: Monday, March 24th at 11am, St Joan of Arc Catholic Church.

Entombment: Calvary Mausoleum.

Memorials: The family suggests to St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church.
