Barnes, John W.
Age 79 - 31 Aug 2012

Retired painter/plater for Western Electric. Former Marine and Veteran of the Korean conflict. Member of the 40 & 8; and American Legion Post #1. Preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Adeline (Smith) Barnes. Survived by wife Shirley; children, Catherine (Dave) Spencer, Carolyn (Paul) Peterson, Shawn (Conni) Pankers, and Steven Pankers; 11 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; brother, Cyril (Nancy) Barnes; and 2 nieces.

Funeral Service: Tuesday 10am at the funeral home.

Visitation: Monday 4-8 P.M.

Service: 6 P.M. at the funeral home.

Memorials: The family prefers memorials to the Eastern Nebraska Veterans Home, in lieu of flowers.

Interment: Westlawn Hillcrest Memorial Park, with Military Honors by American Legion Post #1.
