Charles Howard Bailey Jr.

Bailey, Charles H. Jr.
29 Sep 1947 - 29 Sep 2016

Charles was born on September 29, 1947 in Omaha, Nebraska to Charles, Sr and Velma (Kunc) Bailey. He grew up in Venice, Nebraska where he attended country school and graduated from Waterloo High School in 1965. As a young boy, Chuck enjoyed fishing, hunting, his dogs and tinkering with cars. Chuck served his country in the United States Army from December of 1966 to December of 1968, with a 12 month deployment in Vietnam. While in Vietnam, Chuck was a demolition expert and following an injury was awarded the Purple Heart.

Chuck was married for 20 years and raised two awesome children: Angie and Scott. They made their home in Venice before moving to Yutan.

Chuck worked his entire career at Western Electric and the many companies that evolved from the core company. He started at the bottom and worked his way up, finishing as a the shipping manager. He loved fishing and camping the Niobrara River, hanging out with the guys of the “Round Table” and smoking meats at home. He loved his black poodle “Buster”, being in the outdoors and NASCAR racing. Chuck was an independent, caring, stubborn man with an ornery streak.

Chuck passed away on Thursday, September 29, 2016 at Select Specialty Hospital in Omaha, Nebraska on his 69th birthday. He was preceded in death by his parents Charles, Sr. and Velma.
