Darlene M. Arndt, age 90, of Council Bluffs, Iowa passed away March 24, 2014 at Jennie Edmundson Memorial Hospital. She was born near BeeBeetown, Iowa on January 16, 1924 to the late David & Marie (Hansen) Driver.

After graduating from Benson High School she attended business school and retired from AT&T. She was a longtime member of Saint John Lutheran Church.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Wendell Arndt; son, Ronald Moffatt; grandsons, Lucas and Benjamin Moffatt; siblings, Loren Driver, Doris Marion, Marcella Kahler and Joanne Patterson.

Darlene is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Gene & Mary Moffatt; daughter, Kim Rieger; sisters, Phyllis Richardson and Lois Nore and her husband, Roger; brother, Donald Driver; grandchildren, Charlie Moffatt (Tallison), Danae Johnson (Phil), Scott Moffatt (Karen), Brian Moffatt (Jennifer), Brett Moffatt, Jenni Scebold (Chad), Sam Moffatt, Chase Rieger, Jaime Rieger (Cory Kremlacek), Wendy Rieger and great grandchildren, Brittany Johnson, Madison Moffatt, Ronnie Moffatt, Jessen Moffatt, Austin Moffatt, Jonathan Moffatt, Connor Moffatt, Collin Moffatt, Jack Moffatt, Noah Moffatt, Taylor Moffatt, Vinny Scebold, Londyn Scebold, Memphis Scebold and Everett Kremlacek and many other family and friends.

Visitation: Friday from 6:00-8:00 P.M. at the Hoy-Kilnoski Funeral Home.

Services: Saturday from 10:00 A.M. at the funeral home with Rev. E. Jon Benson officiating. A luncheon will follow the service in the community room at Hoy-Kilnoski.

Interment: Will be that afternoon in the Magnolia, Iowa Cemetery.

Memorials: Suggested to Saint John Lutheran Church or the American Lung Association.


Darlene was a secretary for the cable plant years ago. She retired in June, 1986.
